Nevin E. Baumgardner, 82, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the Pappus House, Thomasville, PA, with his loving family by his side.  

Born June 4, 1943, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Elmer J. E. and Frances R. (Dubs) Baumgardner.  Nevin was the loving husband of Elaine A. (Farley) with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.   

Nevin was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, PA, and helped convert the church in the school on Baltimore St back to a gym. 

Nevin was a member of the 1st graduating class at South Western High School in 1961.  He was a plumber with Davidson’s Heating & Cooling for 41½ years until his retirement in 2007. 

Nevin was a member of the Hanover Eagles – serving as a president three times and as PA State President from 2003-2004, the Hanover Home Association, the McSherrystown Home, the New Oxford Social & Athletic Club, the Knights of Columbus, and the Blue Ridge Summit Sportsman’s Association. 

Nevin enjoyed softball – slow & fast pitch, he umpired baseball and softball, and coached St. Joseph’s School girls’ basketball.  He loved bowling, playing pool, and spending time with his friends and family.   

In addition to his loving wife Elaine, Nevin is survived by his children, Tina L. (Baumgardner)  Watkins (Randy) of New Oxford, PA, Nevin E. Baumgardner, Jr.(Lisa) of Gettysburg, PA, and Margaret E. (Baumgardner) Small (Kevin) of Hanover, PA; 8 grandchildren,  Brett Small, David Watkins, Nicole Hurley, Bryan Baumgardner, Justin Baumgardner, Joseph Watkins, Megan Bankos, and Kaitlyn Baumgardner; 16 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Guyon Baumgardner of Hanover, PA.   He was preceded in death by two siblings, Elsie Rickrode and John Baumgardner. 

A Memorial Service will be held 11AM, Saturday, June 13, 2026, at St. Paul’s U.C.C., 20 S. Peters Street, New Oxford, PA, with the Rev. Preston Van Deursen officiating.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.  A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10-11AM, Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the church.  

Memorial contributions may be made in Nevin’s name to the Pappus House, 66 Big Mount Road, Thomasville, PA 17364.
