Nevin B. “Muss” Musselman, Jr., of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at UPMC Hanover with his loving family by his side.
Born October 8, 1935, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Nevin B. Sr. and Thelma R. (Weaver) Musselman. Muss was the loving husband of Sara E. (Good) Musselman to whom he was married for 68 years.
Muss was a 1953 graduate of Eichelberger High School. He worked as an expeditor for 44 years at the former P.H. Glatfelter Company until his retirement and was a member of the ¼ century club.
Muss was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Hanover, PA, The Hanover ELKS Lodge 763, the McSherrystown Home Association, and a social member of the Hanover Republican Club. He was a Free and Accepted Mason and belonged to the Hanover PATMOS Lodge 348.
Muss cared deeply for his community, serving for 12 years as a Penn Township Commissioner, was a past chairman of the Commissioners and was very active in the York County Democratic Party. He was the original Voice of the Mustangs Football Team, calling games at the Mustang Corral for 25 years. He was a charter member of the South Western Athletic Booster Club as well as having served on the South Western School Board for many years.
Muss was not only a dedicated fan and supporter of South Western High School he was also a diehard Penn State fan.
In addition to his loving wife Sara, Muss is survived by seven children, Theresa M. Snyder and husband Bradley of Hanover, PA, Cynthia K. Lingg and husband David of Hillsborough, NJ, Andy A. Musselman and wife Patty of Abbottstown, PA, Thomas N. Musselman and wife Lori of Hanover, PA, Carol E. Lane and husband Joseph of Hanover, PA, Debra L. Klunk and husband Michael of Spring Grove, PA, and James P. Musselman and wife Kellie of Spring Grove, PA; 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one brother, Gary L. Musselman and wife Leona of Hanover, PA.
Following cremation, a service to celebrate and remember Muss’s life will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with his pastor the Rev. Dr. Kim Blocher officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA. The family will receive friends and share memories from 10 -11 AM, Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at the funeral home.
