Nicholas K. Vlahos, 67, of Hanover, PA, went home to be with his Savior, Jesus, Thursday, January 7, 2021 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Born June 20, 1953 in Bethlehem, PA, he was the son of the late Matheos and Sevasti (Ergas) Vlahos. Nick was the loving husband of Jennifer (Heagey) Vlahos with whom he happily shared 44 years of marriage.
Nick was a 1972 graduate of Hanover High School where he played football and wrestled. He also played semi-pro football on the Hanover Rhinos. He had a career in real estate for over 35 years. He was a Real Estate Broker and former co-owner of ERA Preferred Properties Real Estate from 1987 to 2011.
Nick was a kind, trustworthy man who genuinely loved people and wanted to bless others in his community. He was a member of the Hanover Rotary Club, where he served as president, was a Paul Harris Fellow, Rotary Foundation Committee Member, Centennial Committee member, and Art Auction Committee member. He was a member of the Board of Hanover Foundation for Excellence in Education, past Board President of Hanover Family YMCA, and past president of Realtor Association of York/Adams County as well as current Political Affairs Committee Co-Chair. He also served on the elder board at Christ Community Church in Camp Hill for eight years.
Nick attended Providence Community Church, Spring Grove, PA. He loved to travel, laugh, take pictures of food, go to the beach, visit Disney World and eat! He was a runner and worked out daily at the YMCA. He treasured trips to see the Orioles play with his son, Aaron. Above all of the committees and work related endeavors, Nick loved Jesus and being with his family. He has left a lasting legacy of love and kindness.
In addition to his wife Jennifer, Nick is survived by his two children, Adrienne Herndon and Aaron Vlahos. His son-in-law, Nathan Herndon and three grandchildren, Ethan Herndon, Grace Herndon and Nicolenah Herndon, as well as his two brothers, Demitrious (Jim) Vlahos and John Koulianos. Additionally, sister-in-law Sallie Sterner Vlahos, Mother-in-law Pauline Heagey, his brother-in-law Jeffrey and his wife, Krista Heagey and his nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.
A service to celebrate and remember Nick’s life will be held 3 PM, Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Providence Community Church, 6146 York Road, Spring Grove, PA. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Providence will be following social distancing guidelines for Covid, and masks will be required. Burial will be private at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
