Nora Lee Sandruck, 86, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Friday, June 3, 2022, at home with her loving family by her side.
Born September 23, 1935, near Fiscal in York County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Earl C. & Pauline (Stiffler) Grote. She was the loving wife of Norman Wilbert Sandruck with whom she shared 64 years of marriage until his death, May 20, 2019.
Nora was a graduate of Hanover High School class of 1953. During high school, she was active in 4-H. She worked for Doubleday Book Club for many years until she retired in 1990. Later, she was a cashier at Nell’s Grocery Store in Hanover, PA.
Nora was a member of Black Rock Church of the Brethren, in Glenville, PA.
Nora enjoyed reading, completing word search books, going on bus trips with her friends, vacationing with family and especially spending time with all her grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
Nora is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. Wentz & fiancé James Abramczyk of Coudersport, PA, and Kim M. Redden & husband Buddy of New Oxford, PA; 3 grandchildren, Tanya Lauth & husband Kevin, Dana Zapcic & husband Greg, and Derek Redden & wife Alicia; and 6 great-grandchildren, Laura A. Shue, Andrea D. Shue, Chene R. Wyndham, Katrina M. Wyndham, Gunnar G. Zapcic and Norman P. Redden. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Earl M. Grote and Helen Markle.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Nora’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at the Black Rock Church of the Brethren, 3864 Glenville Rd, Glenville, PA 17329, with Rev. Brandon Grady officiating. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens , Hanover, PA. A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at the church.
