Patrick Earl McMaster, 85, of Bonneauville, passed away peacefully at home on February 13, 2024. Son of the late Earl A. McMaster and Jane A. (Weaver) McMaster of Bonneauville, he was born at the family farm on February 4, 1939.
Patrick was a lifelong member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic parish in Bonneauville and graduated from Delone Catholic High School in 1957.
He enlisted in the Navy upon graduation and proudly served 20 years at several duty stations across the US – working in electronic maintenance for a wide array of aircraft and ships. He was honorably discharged in 1976. In 1977 he began a career with IBM as a field technician that lasted another 20 years, retiring from there in 1997.
Well known for his amiable laugh and outgoing personality, he enjoyed his “retirement” hanging out with his “classmates and pubmates,” particularly at the New Oxford Social Club, where he was known as “Patty-O.”
He kept himself busy as a courier delivering parts and parcels all over the Mid Atlantic area – right up until December of 2023! His Toyota Prius was always a welcome sight, by his customers, when he arrived at his designated delivery site with his valuable cargo. It was also a welcome sight when that Prius, once again, arrived safely home after each trip!
Patrick is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Betty A. (Rhodes) McMaster, a son, David P. McMaster of Baltimore; and a daughter, Tina M. (McMaster) Kendris and son-in-law, Alexander D. Kendris, both of New Oxford. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Bryan A. Kendris, Gregory J. McMaster, Daniel P. Kendris, Matthew D. Kendtzer, and Andrew D. Kendris, and 8 great-grandchildren: Zachary, Tyler, Lyndsay, Paul, Otto, Phoebe, Sam, and Elliot. Patrick was predeceased by a daughter, Veronica J. (McMaster) Wellborn in 1998, and by brother and sisters: Theresa (McMaster) Shanabrook in 1968, Clement McMaster in 1992, and Lucy (McMaster) Staub in 2022.
