Paul “Zeke” A. Leonard, Jr., 77, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Thursday, September 2, 2021, at the Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA.
Born December 7, 1943, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Paul A., Sr., and Carolyn E. (Slagle) Leonard. Zeke was the loving husband of Pamela J. (Gleason) Leonard with whom he shared fifty-six years of marriage.
Zeke was a graduate of Delone Catholic High School, Class of 1961. He received a BS and Master’s in Education from Shippensburg University, and his Principal’s Certificate from Western Maryland College.
Zeke was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, PA. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, McSherrystown, PA, the McSherrystown Home Association, and a lifetime golfer at South Hills Golf Course, Hanover, PA.
Zeke retired from South Western School District, where he was a teacher for thirty-three years. He coached the Golf Team at South Western and the team won the Y.A.I.A.A. Division II championship in 1998.
Zeke had two passions in life – family and golf. His favorite place was South Hills mainly because of all the wonderful friends he enjoyed playing with. A round at Torrey Pines or Pebble Beach were thrills of his golfing years. To all his friends he would say “Keep playing!”
In addition to his loving wife, Pamela, Zeke is survived by his son, Patrick E. Bennett-Leonard and his husband, Karl E. Bennett-Leonard; and his “adopted son”, Martin Menges.
