Peter J. Robinson, 85, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care on Monday, February 2, 2026, at UPMC Harrisburg, with his loving family by his side.
Born April 21, 1940, in Des Moines, IA, he was the son of the late Max and Marjorie (Lewis) Robinson. Peter was the loving husband of Victoria (Livelsberger) Robinson with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.
Peter was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Hanover, PA.
Peter graduated from Jamestown High School in New York, Duke University with a B.S. in mechanical engineering, and Xavier University with his M.B.A. He was a mechanical engineer for over 40 years, working for several manufacturing companies, until his retirement.
Peter served on the board of directors for Allegheny Mountain Radio, and volunteered extensively for the Pennsylvania Game Commission Bureau of Wildlife Management as a Biologist Aide, monitoring bald eagle nesting as well as conducting deer harvest surveys. Peter was a significant contributor to the birding community in Pennsylvania. His efforts were instrumental in documenting the avian life of the state, providing insights into the species that inhabit and visit Pennsylvania. Peter’s contributions have been recognized and appreciated by the Pennsylvania Society of Ornithology and other birding organizations. Peter served as Adams County compiler and compiler of the Pennsylvania Birdlists. He also served as a past Seasonal Editor of Pennsylvania Birds - Journal of the Pennsylvania Society for Ornithology. He was a proud member of and advocate for The Nature Conservancy and the National Audubon Society.
Peter enjoyed bird watching, listening to music, real estate investing, stock market investing, and he loved spending time with his family and friends as well as visiting Bath County, VA.
In addition to his loving wife, Victoria, Peter is survived by his children, Perrin Robinson of Boise, ID, Jeff and Lisa Pratt of Gettysburg, PA, and Suzanne Pratt of King of Prussia, PA; and 6 grandchildren, Grace Robinson, Nolan Robinson, Kate Robinson, Amanda Pratt, Jaime Pratt, and Ella Pratt. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Pratt in 2022; and his sister, Patricia Healey.
Following cremation, services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
