Phyllis A. Chrismer, 93, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Homewood at Plum Creek Nursing Center.
Born February 2, 1931, Bonneauville, PA, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Marie C. (Keiser) Long. Phyllis was the loving wife of the late Michael J. Chrismer with whom she shared 58 years of marriage until his passing on March 31, 2010.
Phyllis was a 1949 graduate of Delone Catholic High School. She worked as an accountant for the Evening Star Newspaper in Wahington, DC until her retirement.
Phyllis was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, PA.
Phyllis enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and cooking. She was an avid fan of Notre Dame Sports, the Redskins, Steelers, Eagles and Phillies. She loved country music, especially George Strait, also Frank Sinatra and the Buddy Rich Band. She was very supportive of her sons’ musical and athletic endeavors.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Ronald M. Chrismer and wife Joni of Laurel, MD, one grandson, Jeffrey Chrismer and wife Amanda, and one great granddaughter, Elizabeth Chrismer, and her siblings, Charlotte Folkenroth, Mary Lee Noel, Darlene Long, and Peter Long. She was preceded in death by two sons, Richard A. Chrismer and Rodney P. Chrismer, as well as her siblings, Doris Hartzel, Melvin Long, Levere Long, Burnell Long, Mark Long, and Bernard Long.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM, Friday, August 2, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5055 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA, with Father Javed Kashif as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, Hanover, PA. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10-11AM, Friday, August 2, 2024, at the church.
