Phyllis L. Forsythe, 78, of Glenville, PA, entered God’s eternal care Friday, May 16, 2025, UPMC Memorial Hospital, York, PA, with her loving family by her side.
Born December 18, 1946, in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Dennis S. and Mildred L. (Bollinger) Wallick. Phyllis was the loving wife of John E. Forsythe, Sr. with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.
Phyllis was a member of St. Jacobs Lutheran Church, Glen Rock, PA.
Phyllis was a 1964 graduate of Littlestown High School. She retired in 2009 from Doubleday with 31 years of service.
Phyllis loved reading, sewing, crafts, baking, enjoying her grandchildren’s activities, taking care of her flower beds, trips to the beach, bus trips with her friends, visiting her son and family in Louisiana, sitting on her patio swing in the evenings with her husband, and watching the wildlife, clouds and planes go by.
In addition to her loving husband John, Phyllis is survived by her son, John Forsythe, Jr. and his wife Angela of Bossier City, LA; her daughter, Shelly Burns of Hanover, PA; four grandchildren, Trey Forsythe and his wife Sarah, Hannah Forsythe, Sam Burns, and Carly Burns; and a sister, Betty Skelton.
A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6PM-8PM, Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Rest Haven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Phyllis to St. Jacob’s Lutheran Church, 3444 Sticks Road, Glen Rock, PA 17327, or to Harlow’s Haven Cat Rescue, 79 Homestead Drive, Hanover, PA 17331.
