Phyllis B. Tasto

Phyllis B. Tasto, 90, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Monday, April 13, 2026, at the Hanover Hall Nursing Home, Hanover, PA.   

Born March 3, 1936, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Anna M. (Ketterman) Byers.  Phyllis was the loving wife of the late Richard H. Tasto, with whom she shared 44 years of marriage until his passing on April 23, 2006. 

Phyllis was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Hanover, PA, where she served in the Ladies’ Group.

Phyllis was a 1954 graduate of Hanover High School. She dedicated 46 wonderful years as a stenographer at Shultz Insurance Agency, retiring in 2001. 

Phyllis enjoyed music, singing, solving crossword puzzles, and vacationing at Ocean City, MD. 

Phyllis is survived by two sons, Michael B. Tasto and wife Lorraine of Angier, NC, and Richard H. Tasto, Jr. of Spring Grove, PA; 2 grandchildren, Michael B. Tasto, II and wife Laura, and Kevin E. Tasto and wife Carlynne; four great-grandchildren, Michael B. Tasto, III, Annabelle K. Tasto, Mckenzie M. Tasto, and Lily M. Tasto; and a sister, Barbara Helfrich.     

A Memorial Service will be held at 6 PM on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Rev. Kirk A. Griffin officiating. A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 5-6 PM on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the family's convenience.
