Ralph E. "Ralphie" Rummel Obituary

Ralph “Ralphie” E. Rummel Jr., born on December 8, 1936 passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026.  He was the husband of the late Linda A. (Duncan) Rummel who passed on January 20, 2019.  He was the son of the late Ralph E. Rummel Sr. and Pauline M. (Small) Rummel, of Hanover.  He is survived by his three children Sandy Brenneman and husband Brian, Jeffrey Rummel and wife Dawn all of Hanover, Michael Rummel and Tina of McSherrystown and his seven grandchildren, Alisha Renz, (Robert), Daniel Brenneman (Katy), Joshua Rummel (April), Jesse Rummel, Amanda Rummel, Mason and Logan Rummel, and 5 great grandchildren, Jacob and Leila Renz, Tanner Brenneman, Maverick Rummel and Baby Brenneman on the way. He was the brother of Jean (Storm) Miller (Syndey) of Hanover, Melvin Rummel (Tina) of Washington, Nancy Kennedy (Scott) of Hanover, Irene Wagner (Dan) of Gettysburg, and Kenneth Rummel of Hanover, brother in-law Henry and sister-in-law Caroline Duncan of Abbottstown and many nieces and nephews.    He was preceded in death by his brother Harry Rummel, brother in-law Joseph Storm and sister in-laws Peggy Rummel and Lucinda Rummel.  

Ralph was an Army Veteran who proudly served his country after being drafted in 1960.  After the Army he was employed by BAE as a welder and later by Penn Township Municipality in Hanover as the Road Foreman until his retirement.   Ralph enjoyed cutting wood, making birdhouses, going to market, antique shopping and loving his red Farmall/International tractors.  He was also the master of fixing almost anything. 

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Ralph will be held at 11 Am, Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Harvest Time Temple Church, 680 Black Rock Road, Hanover, PA, with the Rev. Fred Mummert officiating.  A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from10 – 11 AM, Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at the church.  Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA with the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard providing Military Honors. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your choice of charity.
