Rhoda E. Grove

Rhoda E. Grove, 87, of Hanover, PA, peacefully entered God’s eternal care, Sunday, June 26, 2022, at her home with her loving family by her side. 

Born April 17, 1935, in Richfield, PA, she was the daughter of the late David and Ruth (Graybill) Kauffman.  Rhoda was the loving wife of the late John G. Grove with whom she shared 23 years of marriage until his passing on August 15, 1995.

Rhoda graduated from Lancaster Mennonite School.  She was a school teacher for 16 years.

Rhoda was a faithful and supportive member of Hostetter’s Mennonite Church, Hanover, PA

Rhoda enjoyed sewing for relief aid and had a love for books. She enjoyed sending greeting cards to family and friends and enjoyed quality time with them as well.

Rhoda was greatly loved and appreciated and shared the same love and appreciation for others. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

Rhoda is survived by her step children, Dennis Grove and wife Linda of Quantico, MD, Lowell Grove and wife Kathy of Hanover, PA, Everett Grove, Sr. and wife Thelma of Hanover, PA, one daughter-in law Linda Grove (Dale deceased) of Thomasville, PA, Sandra Hess and husband Jay of Andover, NY, Shirley Grove of Hanover, PA, and LaVonne Forry and husband Tony of Athens, TN, 26 step grandchildren, 63 step great grandchildren, and one sister-in-law Thelma Kauffman of Richfield, PA.

She was preceded in death by one step granddaughter, Darlene Grove, one step great granddaughter, Tatiana Weaver, one brother, Laban Kauffman, and two sisters, Naomi Weaver and husband Daniel, and Anna Mae Kauffman.

A funeral service will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Bair’s Mennonite Church, 6925 York Road, Hanover, PA. Viewings will be held from 1-3 PM and 5-7 PM, Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at the church as well as from 9-10 AM, Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the church.  Burial will be in York Road Cemetery.
