Richard M. Megela

Richard M. Megela, 74, of Littlestown, PA, entered God’s eternal care Thursday, July 24, 2025, at WellSpan York Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Born February 11, 1951, in Belle Vernon, PA, he was the son of the late Michael and Doris (Koslasky) Megela.  Richard was the loving husband of Priscilla M. (Hough) Megela, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage, June 21, 2025.

Richard was a 1969 graduate of Belle Vernon High School, a 1974 graduate of Clarion State University, with a B.S. in Education, and a Master’s equivalency.  He taught 5th and 6th grade History for 36 years, retiring in 2010.

Richard was a former member of the Fish and Game Association.  He coached baseball and wrestling for many years.  Richard shot archery, enjoyed fishing and hunting, loved animals and time spent with his family.

In addition to his loving wife, Priscilla, Richard is survived by his son, Nathan R. Megela of Littlestown, PA; one granddaughter, Sierra Megela; and two great-grandchildren, Cesar Morales and Gabriel Morales.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Megela.

A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6PM-8PM, Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
