Richard E. Clabaugh, 80, of New Oxford, PA entered God’s eternal care on February 11, 2026.
Born September 11, 1945, in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Miriam A. (Chrismer) Clabaugh.
Richard was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Bonneauville, PA.
Richard was a graduate of Delone Catholic High School; and a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country proudly during the Korean War. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Expert Badge (M-14 Rifle).
Richard worked for Clabaugh Excavating and Clabaugh Trucking until his retirement in 2011.
Richard was a member of the CWV, Bonneauville, PA, the Gettysburg Eagles, and the American Legion of Gettysburg.
He is survived by his children, Michael A. Clabaugh and wife Lori of Littlestown, PA, Stephen E. Clabaugh and wife Melissa and Lynne M. Staub and husband Duane all of Gettysburg, PA, Joni L. Wolff and husband Kevin of East Berlin, PA, and Chad M. Clabaugh and wife Angela of Abbottstown, PA; 13 grandchildren; and his siblings, Michael Clabaugh, Robert Clabaugh, Jeffrey Clabaugh, Timothy Clabaugh, Thomas Clabaugh, William Clabaugh, Donald Clabaugh, Kenneth Clabaugh, Douglas Clabaugh, Judith Wagner, Dorothy Johnson, Kimberly Miller, and Cathy Cullison. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sandra Sherman and Victoria Vargas.
Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM, Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 12 E. Hanover Street, Gettysburg (Bonneauville), PA, with Father Benny Jose as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph the Worker Church Cemetery. The Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard Burial Detail will provide Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Richard's name to St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 12 E. Hanover Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
