Richard H. Dibble

Richard Harvey Dibble, 94, of York, Pennsylvania, left this world on July 2, 2026, but the love he built will last forever.

Born on November 7, 1931, in Northampton, Massachusetts, Rick was the eldest child of Harvey Edward Dibble and Beryle Gladden Dibble DeWolfe.

Rick served in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1954. It was this service that brought him to Bainbridge, Maryland, and eventually led to his introduction to his wife of nearly 69 years, Alma. They were married in December 1957 and started building their family. In May of 1960, Rick joined the Baltimore County Police Department, a career that he was very proud of!  His greatest accomplishment, however, was the family he created. Rick and Alma raised four children — Debbie, Scott, Mark and Lori — each of whom carries a piece of Rick’s strong work ethic and dedication to family.

Over the years, Rick and Alma found joy in camping with their children, and in their retirement years, enjoyed a camping trip across country. He was a proud member of Mt. Zion Lodge #74 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

Rick's legacy lives on through his wife Alma Lee; his four children, Debbie Street (Jim), Scott Dibble (Bonnie), Mark Dibble and Lori Schneider (John); his 10 grandchildren -- Nicole Markle (Kevin), Danny Higgs, Brent Austin Dibble (Faith), Tyler Evan Dibble (Kate), Scottie Dibble (Kelsey), Jon Austin Dibble, Brooks Dibble (Sami), Sawyer Dibble, Brandon Schneider, Wesley Schneider, and 9 great grandchildren -– Krysta Crouse, Madilynn Higgs, Lilly Higgs, Naomi Schneider, Nathaniel Dibble, Matthew Dibble, Savannah Dibble, Wyatt Dibble and Cooper Dibble; and the countless friends, neighbors, and colleagues whose lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Beryle, and sister Janet, who we trust are welcoming him with open arms. Let us not forget the warm welcome he will receive from his treasured pets Skippy and Rickee!

A celebration of Rick’s life is being planned and once all arrangements have been made, information will be shared.

While we will deeply miss our Husband/Dad, we find unspeakable comfort and peace in knowing he is pain free and finally home.  Throughout his life he placed his complete trust in the promise of Jesus.
