Richard H. “Tex” Eiserman, 81, of Hanover, Pennsylvania, entered God’s eternal care Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Homewood at Plum Creek, Hanover, PA.
Born February 12, 1943, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Paul and Doris (Hershey) Eiserman. Tex was the loving husband of Dorothy E. (Harner) Eiserman with whom he shared fifty-six years of marriage.
Tex was a 1961 graduate of Eichelberger High School, excelling on the football, wrestling, and track teams – and going to states for wrestling, javelin, and shot put. He also won a scholarship to Notre Dame. Richard was a member of the Boy Scouts, earning his Eagle Scout.
Tex was a veteran and served his country proudly in the United States Navy, where he enjoyed working on airplane engines.
Tex was the proud owner of Eiserman’s in Hanover, PA, for forty years until his retirement in 2010. He was a member of the Hanover Chamber of Commerce, and the Hanover Elk’s BPOE 763.
Tex loved swimming and was a life guard when he was younger, he enjoyed going to the Hanover YMCA daily, and he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his loving wife, Dorothy, Tex is survived by his daughter Cynthia K. Witmer of Harrisburg, PA; two grandchildren, Ashlee K. Adams and husband Benjamin, and Todd L. Cook; four great-grandchildren, Leah Lanahan, Emma Adams, Tenleigh Adams, and Caleb Adams; and a sister-in-law, Susan Eiserman. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas Eiserman and Mark Eiserman.
A service to celebrate and remember Tex’s life will be held 11AM, Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Rev. David Oravec officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA, with the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard Burial Detail providing Military Honors. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6-8 PM, Friday, March 1, 2024, at the funeral home.
