Richard L. Stauffer, 82, of Hanover, PA, entered into God’s eternal care on September 11, 2025, at his home.
Born August 29, 1943, he was the son of the late Lavere and Gertrude (Hempfing) Stauffer. He was the loving husband of Joyce Noble Stauffer with whom he shared 4 years of marriage.
Richard was a 1961 graduate of South Western High School where he had the honor of being the first quarterback of the South Western Mustang Football team. He graduated from Salem University and served in the US Army. He was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion, Hanover Amvets, and the Hanover VFW.
Richard was self-employed as owner of Hanover Bronze and Aluminum until his retirement.
In addition to his loving wife, Richard is survived by a son Andy Stauffer (wife Victoria) of Utah, a granddaughter Dr. Zoe Stauffer of Utah, a grandson Zack Stauffer of Texas and a sister, Shirley Sharp of South Carolina. Richard is also survived by a stepdaughter, Lori Neiderer (husband John) of Hanover, step-grandson Ben Fogle (wife Michelle), two step-granddaughters Dana Kieffer (husband Brent) and Stephanie McVicker (husband Dave), and six step-great grandchildren Grace, Hope, Bentley, Harper, Liam and Bryson.
Along with his parents, Richard was predeceased in death by his first wife Linda (Ealy) Stauffer and his son Steve Stauffer.
The family would like to thank the nurses from Hanover / Spring Grove Hospice as well as Michelle Fogle and Amanda Tringali who went above and beyond to help with Richard’s care throughout his last month.
The Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA has been entrusted by the family with the funeral arrangements. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
