Robert E. Beckner, 73, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Sunday, April 24, 2022, at home with his loving family by his side.
Born on July 1, 1948, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late John R. and Dorothy G. (Winand) Beckner. Robert was the loving husband of Margaret E. "Peanut" (Brady) Beckner with whom he would have celebrated 55 years of marriage on April 29th.
Robert was a 1966 graduate of New Oxford High School, New Oxford, PA. He was a maintenance mechanic with ESAB of Hanover for thirty-five years until his retirement in 2013.
Robert was a lifetime member of the UAW (United Auto Workers).
Robert loved spending time in Potter County, PA with friends and family. He also enjoyed his time hunting and going to his son’s and grandchildren’s sporting events.
In addition to his loving wife, Margaret, Robert is survived by Robert Beckner, Jr. of Hanover, PA, Douglas Beckner and wife Trina of McSherrystown, PA, Jonathan Beckner and wife Amber of Hanover, PA, and Andrew Beckner and wife Christy of Hanover, PA; eight grandchildren, Tyler Beckner and wife Kaci, Lane Beckner, Madison Beckner, Lauryn Beckner and fiancé Mason Lentz, Lance Beckner, Kevin Beckner, Mya Beckner, and Natalie Beckner; and a sister, Janet Beckner. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Beckner.
A visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00AM, Saturday, April 30, 2022, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA. A time of sharing to celebrate and remember Robert will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, April 30, 2022, at the funeral home. Following cremation, burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
