Robert D. "Bob" Sell

Robert D. “Bob” Sell, 82, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Monday, September 1, 2025, at UPMC Hanover Hospital.

Born May 9, 1943, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Charlotte “Sandy” (Gallagher) Sell.  Bob was the loving husband of Cecelia R. (Heavner) Sell, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.

Bob was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA.

Bob was a 1961 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, Hanover, PA, Williamsport Technical School and earned certificates from Penn State and the International Correspondence School.  He was a mechanical design engineer at ESAB for 43 years until his retirement.

Bob loved doing jigsaw puzzles, word find puzzle books, and meeting at Hoss’s for Wednesday afternoon cards. He was an avid Nascar fan, enjoyed boating, fishing, and woodworking in his younger years, and was quite the handyman - working on cars, and building an addition on his house.  He especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his loving wife, Cecelia, Bob is survived by his daughter, Carol Elaine Bowden of Washington, NC.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Ann Gallagher.     

Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate and remember Bob will be held 11AM, Monday, September 8, 2025, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 129 Charles Street, Hanover, PA, with his pastor, the Rev. Kirk Griffin officiating.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
