On May 23, 2025 Robert E. Bell, Jr. was called home to the Lord at the age of 67. Known for his kindheartedness and his stellar abilities with anything mechanical, he was an all-around good guy. Rob was the loving husband of Leslie Elsner Bell and father to Robert Bertram Bell.
Rob was a 1976 graduate of Trinity High School and a graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He was employed by UPS as a Project Manager in the Industrial Engineering Department for more than 30 years. He enjoyed being outdoors, from skiing and hiking with his family to spending time at the family cottage, and was always up for home maintenance projects. He loved best spending time with family and friends.
He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed his talents and time. He was loved by all who knew him. He will be sorely missed by his family.
Rob was pre-deceased by both his parents Robert Edward and Ann Marie Bell, one brother Paul Bell and two sisters Jean Marie Bell and Margaret Mary Bell Woodward. In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by one brother David Bell, one sister Mary Bell and his father-in-law Bertram Elsner Sr., in addition to many nieces and nephews and cousins.
The funeral service in celebration of Rob’s life will be held at 11 AM on May 30, 2025 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market St., York, PA with Pastor Kevin Shively officiating. A visitation and time to share memories with friends and family will be held Thursday, May 29 from 6-8 PM and on Friday, May 30 from 10-11 AM at the church. A light lunch in the fellowship hall will be followed by interment at Rest Haven Cemetery, 310-338 Westminster Road, Hanover, PA. Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. in Hanover is in charge of arrangements.
