Robert G. Groft

Robert G. Groft, 60, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care on Monday, December 1, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born January 21, 1965, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late George B. and Margaret G. (Smith) Groft.  Robert was the loving husband of Sally A. (Hertz) Groft with whom he shared 3 years of marriage.

Robert was a 1983 graduate of Delone Catholic High School.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Basilica Catholic Church, Hanover, PA. 

Robert worked in the family business for over 45 years, first as an excavator and later and currently as the owner and operator of GB Groft Inc., of Hanover.  He enjoyed playing cards, traveling, woodworking, and especially loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Sally, Robert is survived by his children, Adam Groft, Ashley Groft, Emily Groft, his stepchildren, Jesse Miller and wife Karly, Alesha Miller and fiancé, Tom Snow, his two grandchildren, Paisley and Paxton, his sisters, Jeanne Baugher and husband Rick, and Kathy Seymore and husband Dale, and his sister-in-law, Anne Groft.  He was preceded in death by one brother, James Groft.

Viewings will be held from 1-3 PM and 5-7 PM, Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 66 East Hanover Street, Gettysburg, (Bonneauville), PA.  A prayer service will be held at 7 PM, Friday, December 5, 2025, at the funeral home with Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
