Robin "Rob" Richard Loeschner

Robin (Rob) Richard Loeschner, 86, of Hanover, passed away, peacefully on August 10, 2026.  He was the son of Roy Charles Loeschner and Ruth Lillian Loeschner.

He shared 40 years of marriage with his wife Kathy Loeschner, whom he married on June 20, 1986.

Rob was born in Bath, Maine on March 22, 1940.  He was a graduate of Morse High School, University of Maine, and Georgetown Dental School.  He was a proud Veteran of the Navy, where he was a security officer.

His professional career started with practices in Gray, Maine and later Bath, Maine.  In 1981 he became a civilian dentist for the Army at Aberdeen Proving Ground.  He moved to Fawn Grove, PA.

He was a stepfather to three sons.  He loved animals, especially his beloved dog, Muffet.  He rescued many cats over the years.

He and Kathy bought a house together which he totally renovated and landscaped over the next 33 years.  Rob became proficient in carpentry, plumbing, cabinet making, and electrical work.

After retiring in 2003, he took up camping, buying a motor home and traveling through Pennsylvania, Maine and Florida over the next 20 years.  Gardening vegetables was a favorite hobby.

In 2016, he was diagnosed with dementia.  In 2019, they moved to Homewood Living Retirement Community.  Along with the dementia, he suffered with debilitating back pain.

He died, peacefully, at Homewood’s CareSouth.  He was predeceased by his sister Carol Hart, and his parents.

He is survived by  his wife Kathy Loeschner and her children, Al, Kevin, and Michael Jenkins, and five grandchildren, his brother, Alan Loeschner, nieces, Kim and Anna Loeschner, and nephew, David Loeschner.

Following cremation, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
