Ronald C. Nelson

Ronald C. Nelson, 93, of Hanover, PA, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at The UPMC Hanover Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born January 23, 1932, in Mercersburg, PA he was the son of the late Donley W. and Ellen S. (Clark) Nelson.  Ronald was the loving husband of Geraldine (Marshall) Nelson, with whom he shared almost 67 years of marriage.

Ronald was a graduate of Mercersburg High School and a Veteran of the United States Air Force having served his country proudly in the Korean War.

Ronald retired from Esskay Meats with over 38 years of service as a Sales Representative.

Ronald was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, crabbing, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his loving wife Geraldine, Ronald is survived by his children, Kathleen Doucet, Jean Marie Nelson, John Nelson and wife Danna, Patricia Keffer, Jacqueline Brady and husband Randy, Joseph Nelson and wife Terri, and Susan Nickol and husband Michael, his grandchildren, Katy, Allison, Emma, Ashley, Brian, Nate, Justin, Stephanie, Zachary, Lucas, Aaron, Andy, and Ryan, his great grandchildren, Atlas, Harper, Ben, Elliott, Adley, Alissa, Kaylee, Devan, Blaire, Kendall, Camden, Madison, Dominic, and Knox, and his siblings, Virginia Myers, Robert Nelson, Donley Nelson, Jr., and Richard Nelson, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Martin Nelson.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Ronald’s life will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Deacon Tom Aumen officiating.  Burial will be in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  A visitation will be held from 10 -11 AM, Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the funeral home.
