Ronald R. Beeler, Sr

Ronald R. Beeler, Sr., 82, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at UPMC Hanover Hospital, with his loving family by his side.

Born February 8, 1944, in Boiling Springs, PA, he was the son of the late Clarence R. and Gayle A. (Schugart) Beeler.  Ronald was the loving husband of Sarah C. (Wisotzkey) Beeler. 

Ronald was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, PA, where he was a former Eucharistic Minister, was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and was a former Commissioner for the Penn Township Board of Commissioners

Ronald was a 1962 graduate of Gettysburg High School, Gettysburg, PA.  He attended the Police Academy, and served as the Chief of Police for Penn Township for 17 years, from 1968-1985, rising through the ranks of Patrolman, Sergeant and then Police Chief.  After retirement, from Penn Township he worked for Beeler Box and then Atlas Container until 2024.    

Ronald loved golfing, fishing, hunting, camping, was an avid NASCAR fan, and loved spending time with his friends and family. 

In addition to his loving wife Sarah, Ronald is survived by two children, Rhonda S. Arnold (Edward), and Ronald R. Beeler, Jr. (Sherry); five grandchildren, Ashley Arnold (Rob Blum), Alex Arnold (Rochelle), Trista Beeler (Jeffrey Borys), Haley Beeler, and Kasey Beeler (Tyler Sheffer); ten great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Hoff, and his faithful companion, his dog, Beau.  Ronald was preceded in death by three siblings, Kenneth Beeler, Shirley Hornig, and Robert Beeler.   

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM, Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA, with Father Cole Mase, as celebrant.  A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10-11AM, Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the church.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ronald’s name to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023, or to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
