Rose C. Burns

Rose C. Burns, 89 years old, of New Oxford, PA, and formerly of Hanover, PA died Sunday afternoon, September 17, 2023, at the Brethren Home. 

Born August 19, 1934, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Martha Malone.  She was the loving wife of the late Ronald T. Burns with whom she shared 67 years of marriage until his passing on December 11, 2020.

Rose graduated from Notre Dame High School, Baltimore, MD.  She worked in the Howard County School Cafeteria System, and upon her husband’s retirement, Ron and Rose moved to Ocean City, MD where they spent a joyous and fulfilling 25 years before moving to Hanover, PA to be closer to their family.

Rose is survived by son, Ronald A. Burns (Gail) of Ellicott City, MD; daughter Debra A. Kuhn (Bud) of Millville, DE; daughter Kathleen R. Hamilton, of Hanover, PA 9 grandchildren, Dana Dukehart, Brian Burns, Michele McCommon, Timothy Burns, Shannon Giannini, Melissa D’Angelo, Roger “Chad” Chenoweth III, Todd Chenoweth, and Brandon Hamilton, and 19 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by son Michael J. Burns (Bitsy) and grandson Thomas Burns both of Aiken, SC.

Rose’s vast amount of friends (picked up along the way), who journeyed with them… through the joys and adventures, as well as the pains and calamities, that make up the magnificent phenomenon known as “LIFE”.

May her Soul be at Peace and may she find comfort and relief in all of Heaven’s promises!

Following cremation,  Burial will be in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD at 11:30 AM on Thursday, October 19th, 2023.
