Ross A. Sipe passed away October 24, 2023, at Homewood at Plum Creek, Hanover, PA. Born in Hanover, PA, on March 11, 1931, he was the son of the late Ross A. and Grace N. (Sterner) Sipe. He was the loving husband of the late Roberta “Berdie” (Nace) Sipe with whom he shared 51 years of marriage until her passing on May 11, 2017.
Ross was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Hanover, PA.
Ross was a veteran and served his country proudly as a Buck Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
Ross attended Hanover High School, and then graduated from the Williamson Trade School. He was employed as a machinist for HIMCO and then as a maintenance electrician for the Sonoco Company until his retirement.
Ross was a member of the American Legion Post 14, Hanover, PA, and the McSherrystown Home Association.
Ross was a loving husband and father, he loved working on model trains, riding motorcycles, flying through the sky in his plane, and had a great love of cars and driving.
Ross is survived by his daughter, Cheryl A. Gruver and husband Jim, of Gardners, PA; three grandchildren, Alex Gruver, Cole Gruver, and Breonna Farlling; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Sheaffer and Sandra Feeser; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate and remember Ross will be held 11:00AM, Friday, November 10, 2023, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Pastor Brian Markel officiating. Burial will be Lischey's Church Cemetery, Spring Grove, PA, with the Hanover Allied Veterans Burial Detail Honor Guard providing Military Honors. A visitation will be held Friday, November 10, 2023, from 10:00-11:00AM at the funeral home.
