Russell C. Weber, Jr. of the Homewood at Plum Creek Continuum Care Retirement Community of Hanover, PA entered into God’s eternal care on September 21, 2026.
Born March 6, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Russell C. Weber, Sr. and Dorothy (Morshead) Weber. He was the husband of the late Bernice Wagner Weber of Homewood at Plum Creek, Hanover, PA, who passed away June 4, 2024.
He retired in 1996 from the Northrop Grumman Corporation in Sykesville, MD., as a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer. He was a 1956 Industrial Engineering graduate of Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA., where he participated for four years on their JV and Varsity baseball teams.
Russ started his career with the General Electric Company in their three-year Manufacturing Training Program in 1956, and specialized as a Quality Control Engineer. In 1967 he became the Quality Control Manager for the Regina Corporation in Rahway, NJ. In 1974, he and his family moved to Sykesville, MD., where Russ worked for Black and Decker in Towson, MD, as a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer. He later joined the Westinghouse Electronic Systems Division in Linthicum, MD in 1985, which was subsequently bought by Northrop Grumman in 1996. Russ and Bernice lived in Sykesville, MD for 31 years before they moved to Homewood at Plum Creek in August of 2005.
While in Bethlehem, Russ was the Vice President of the Bethlehem Jaycees and helped in their restoration of Bethlehem’s historic train station. He, also, was a member of the American Society for Quality Control.
Rus was an avid baseball player in his younger years, having played for Lehigh University and in various leagues in the Bethlehem, PA area. In his later years, he became a dedicated golfer and participated in several leagues, including the Maryland Interclub Senior Golfers Association, the Homewood Monday Golfer's League, and the South Hills Golf Club AARP League. Russ enjoyed working on his computer and playing his piano/keyboard. He was involved in many activities at Homewood, including dart baseball, golf, the Senior TV Project, the Veterans Group, and the Men’s Group. Russ felt very blessed to be a part of Homewood at Plum Creek and to have made so many wonderful friends.
Russ is survived by his daughter Debra Weber Kiley, her husband Jeffrey Kiley of Reisterstown, MD and their son Thomas Kiley of Baltimore, MD., as well as his son Robert Christopher Weber of Westminster, MD and his two children, Nicole Weber Darden of Arnold, MD and Matthew Weber of New Market, MD.
Funeral arrangements will be private at the request of the family. Cremation will be performed by the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. of Hanover.
