Ruth L. Dentler

Ruth L. Dentler, 95, of Dover, PA entered into God’s eternal care, Saturday, November 19, 2022, at UPMC Memorial Hospital, York, PA, with her loving family by her side.

Born May 22, 1927, in Millers, MD, she was the daughter of the late Jeremiah E. J. Henry and Georgia C. (Hahn) Merryman.  Ruth was the loving wife of the late William D. Reese, Jr, James P. Grove, and Calvin W. Dentler.

Ruth was the owner operator of Brass N Crafts in Gettysburg, PA until her retirement in 1987.

Ruth was a member of Hope Baptist Church, Hanover, PA, and an associate member of Wesley Culp Camp, SCV, Gettysburg, PA.

Ruth enjoyed gardening, crafts, was an avid reader and especially enjoyed being with her family.

Ruth is survived by her children, Deborah A. Short  and husband Ronald of Dover, PA and William D. Reese, III and wife Susan of Gettysburg, PA, 8 grandchildren, Jason Hardman and wife Colleen, Kevin Hardman, Holly Basmajian and husband Chris, William D. Reese, IV and wife Tabitha, Jenalee Short, Amanda Shipley, Melissa Smith and husband Troy, Tracy Ingram and companion John Seiger, 13 great grandchildren, Brooke Hardman, Hannah Hornberger, McKenna Shipley, Lydia Shipley, Willow Hardman, Pryce McClane, Gavin Smith, Mason Reese, Keegan Reese, Addilynn Reese, Andrea Basmajian, Anna Basmajian, and Anthony Basmajian, 1 great great granddaughter, Rylee Williams, and one brother, William Merryman and wife Susan.  She was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Bowers, and Arlene Lester.

A service to celebrate and remember Ruth will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA with her Pastor, the Rev. Dr. Allen G. Harris officiating.  Burial will be in Millers Church Cemetery, Millers, MD.  Visitations will be held from 6 -8 PM, Tuesday, November 22, 2022, and 10 -11 AM, Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at the funeral home.
