Samuel J. Keller, 71, of Bonneauville, PA, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at home with his loving family by his side.
Born November 15, 1952, in Gettysburg, PA he was the son of the late Clarence and Marie (Smith) Keller. Samuel was the loving husband of Sandra E. (Weaver) Keller with whom he shared fifty-four years of marriage.
Samuel was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Bonneauville, PA., where he volunteered at many events.
Samuel was a mason, working for Roger Flickinger, then was self-employed as S.S. Keller Masonry for fifteen years, and working for Caretti Construction until his retirement.
Samuel was long-time member of the Catholic War Vets and was active with the Make-A-Wish Foundation – every August he had a huge picnic with the proceeds benefiting Make-A-Wish.
Samuel enjoyed collecting big and little John Deere tractors, cutting wood, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids. He enjoyed hunting with his good buddy Bern.
In addition to his loving wife, Sandra, Samuel is survived by his four daughters, Melissa Startzman, Shelly Keller, and Becky Baugher and husband Dirk all of Bonneauville, PA, and Beth Harlacher and husband Andy of New Oxford, PA; twelve grandchildren, Brianna Bowling, Joseph Bowling, Kenny Startzman, Keith Startzman, Damian McMaster, Derreck McMaster, Brooke McMaster “Angel” (Pap’s Angel on Earth), Ella Baugher, Faith Baugher, Allison Shorb, Alexis Shorb, Brady Harlacher; six great-grandchildren, Elijah Monahan, Joseph Bowling, Chase Bowling, Everlee McMaster, Colton McMaster, and Samuel Startzman; three step grandchildren, Dru Harlacher, Owen Harlacher, and Carter Kidwell; and seven siblings, Patricia Hawn of Biglerville, Edward Keller of York Springs, PA, Ken Keller of Biglerville, PA, Steven Keller of Gettysburg, PA, Roger Keller of Gettysburg, PA, Ellen Black of Aspers, PA, and Donna Bream of FL; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Weishaar.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM, Friday, July 26, 2024, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 12 East Hanover St., Bonneauville, PA, with Father Benny Jose as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Joseph the Worker Church Cemetery. Visitations and times to share memories with the family will be held from 2-4 PM and from 6-8 PM, Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 66 E. Hanover St., Bonneauville, PA.
