Sandra Ann Hunter

Sandra Ann Hunter, 78, of Gettysburg, PA, formerly of Hillsboro, OH, entered God’s eternal care Monday, February 16, 2026, at the Gardens at Gettysburg, with her loving family by her side.

Born November 3, 1947, in Sardinia, OH, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Irene (Morris) Waits.  Sandra was the loving wife of James L. Hunter, Sr., with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. 

Sandra was a 1965 graduate of Lynchburg Clay High School, Lynchburg, OH.  She worked as a CNA for Heartland in Hillsboro, OH for 40 years until her retirement in 2012. 

Sandra loved traveling, loved her poodles, and loved her family. 

In addition to her loving husband James, Sandra is survived by her son, James Hunter, Jr. of Gettysburg, PA; four grandchildren, Forbes Roth, Epi Roth, Ashley Phillips, and Jackson Hunter; her sister, Bonnie Moss Waits; and a number of nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by three siblings, Ed Waits, Paulette Waits Tener, and Debbie Waits Smart.

Following cremation, the family will have services at a later date in Ohio.
