Sandra Wilson Obituary

Sandra Sue “Willie" Wilson, joined her beloved mom, other family members, and best friends in heaven on Friday, February 22, 2019 after a brief illness, the rest of us lost a very special, humorous, and caring person.

Born May 15, 1948 in Dillsburg, PA, she was the daughter the late Marion Baker Wilson, and the ‘adopted’ daughter of Vivian B. Brady and the late James H. Brady.

Sandy was a 1966 graduate of Northern High School, Dillsburg, PA.  She worked as a technical assistant for Capital BlueCross from 1976-2005, and for Rohrer Bus from 2005-2008, and was happily retired since 2008.

For many years, Sandy was an esteemed member and coach of the Harrisburg Her-icanes women’s fast-pitch softball team.  Sandy was an outstanding hitter, center fielder, and first baseman for the Her-icanes.  While she hated to lose, she loved competing in many Amateur Softball Association tournaments, particularly the experience at ASA Nationals in 2000.  Willie formed many valued friendships through her softball experience.  She was also a member of the Hershey Bears Booster Club, the Mercersburg Moose, and the Capital BlueCross Retiree Breakfast Group.

Sandy enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, cooking, counter cross-stitching, spending time with family and friends, doing good deeds, going to Hershey Bears Hockey games, staying up late to watch late night TV, and being retired!  She was an avid fan of Notre Dame sports, Da Bears, Washington Capitals, as well as Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins.  Sandy rarely met someone she didn’t consider a friend – If you met Sandy, you’d never forget her.

In addition to her ‘adopted’ mom, Vivian, Sandy is survived by a brother, Douglas L. Wilson of Hanover, PA; a niece, Daniele M. Wilson, great-nieces, Cailey Aubrey and Celia Stein, and great-nephew, Reece Stein all of Hanover, PA; her beloved fur baby sons, Max and Nick, and their mom and Sandy’s beloved best friend, Patricia A. Brady of Fort Loudon, PA; aunts and uncles, Ken and Janet Baker of Dillsburg, PA, and Eugene and Orville Baker of Hudson, FL; cousins, Lon and Gina Shadel of South Korea, Jenni and Joe Dice of Show Low, AZ, William D. and Kathryn Baker of Hellertown, PA, and John R. and Mary Baker of New Hope, PA; an adopted brother and sister-in-law, Michael J. Brady and Cindy Brady of East Berlin, PA; adopted sister, Beth “Biz” Bisbano of Harrisburg, PA; and best friend, Kathy Latcha of Harrisburg, PA.  She was preceded in death by a best friend, Linnea Grimm.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Sandy’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Rev.
