Sarah E. Wellborn

Sarah E. Wellborn, 86, of New Oxford, PA and formerly of Gettysburg, PA, entered God’s Eternal Care, Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Brethren Home Community, New Oxford, PA, with her loving family by her side.

Born November 28, 1937, in Pensacola, FL, she was the daughter of the late Arthur M. and Marguerite M. (Kershaw) Brewton.  Sarah was the loving wife of the late Billy D. Wellborn, Sr. with whom she shared 64 years of marriage until his passing on December 27, 2019.

Sarah was a member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution (DAR).

Sarah enjoyed cooking, collecting butterflies and hummingbirds, and bowling in leagues when she was younger.

Sarah is survived by two sons, Billy D. Wellborn, Jr., of New Oxford, PA, and Jeffery D. Wellborn of Sarasota, FL; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by seven siblings. 

Following cremation, a Graveside Service will be held at 1PM, Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Evergreen Cemetery, 799 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg, PA.   

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sarah’s name to the Good Samaritan Fund at the  Brethren Home, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, PA 17350.
