Sharon A. Nassar, 79, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at home with her loving family by her side.
Born August 24, 1946, in Utica, New York, she was the daughter of the late Francis A. and Virginia L. (Julian) Scarfo. Sharon was the beloved wife of Joseph E. Nassar, Sr., with whom she would have celebrated 60 years of marriage this August.
Sharon was a 1964 graduate of Thomas R. Proctor High School in Utica, NY. She worked for many years as a baker at Nell’s Market, Sugarbaker’s Bakery, and Western Maryland College, where she shared her talent and love for baking with countless others.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hanover, PA, and Amici d’Italia, Hanover, PA.
Sharon will be lovingly remembered for her warm heart, her playful spirit, and the joy she brought to those around her. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, who will always cherish the fun adventures, laughter, and special memories they shared with her. Whether it was going to the movies with snacks and drinks packed along, riding the rabbit bus around town, visiting playgrounds like Kids Kingdom, or taking them to the Hungry Parrot and other fun spots while helping raise them, Sharon had a way of making ordinary days feel special. Her loving attitude, fun personality, and wonderful quirkiness made her unforgettable to all who knew and loved her.
Sharon also enjoyed baking, playing Ma’Jong with her group, and simply being surrounded by the people she loved most.
In addition to her loving husband, Joseph, Sharon is survived by her children, Kelly A. Altland, Lisa M. Luckenbaugh and husband Joseph M. Luckenbaugh, Jennifer L. Nassar, and Joseph E. Nassar, Jr. and his wife Regina L. Nassar; her sister, Patricia J. Lupia and her husband Anthony Lupia; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara and Terry Taurisano; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
