Sharon E. Myers

Sharon E. Myers, 78, of New Oxford, PA, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at UPMC Hanover Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Born July 18, 1946, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clark H. and Pauline E. (Strausbaugh) Wildasin.  Sharon was the loving wife of Steven D. Myers, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage.

Sharon was a 1964 graduate of Eichelberger High School.  She worked as a Teacher’s Aide at New Oxford Elementary School for 24 years until her retirement in 2001.

Sharon was a member of Four-Square Gospel Church, Gettysburg, PA. 

Sharon was true Christian and follower of God’s word.  She enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening.  She was talented in interior decorating and won many awards at local fairs.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and sharing her love of nature and crafting with them.

In addition to her husband Steven, Sharon is survived by one daughter, Tania R. Dettinburn and husband Robert of Hanover, PA, 3 grandchildren, Jacob S. Flickinger and wife Ashley, Brady R. Dettinburn, Taylor R. Dettinburn, 2 great grandchildren, Landon J. Flickinger and Dawson R. Flickinger, and one sister, Victoria J. Harman and husband Larry “Doc”.  She was preceded in death by one sister, Sonja Y. Wagaman.

Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family, However, a Celebration of Sharon’s life will be held from 1-3 PM,  Sunday, March 9, 2025 at The McSherrystown Knights of Columbus, 342 Main Street, McSherrystown, PA.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Mayo Clinic, Department of Development 200 First Street SW Rochester, MN 55905, or the Lyme Disease Foundation, Inc., 384-G Merrow Road, Tolland, Ct, 06084.
