Shirley R. Dayhoff, 88, of Hanover, PA entered God’s Eternal Care, Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Hanover Hall Nursing Center.
Born January 24, 1933, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Hilda (Warner) Mummert. Shirley was the loving wife of the late Laverne B. Dayhoff, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage until his death on October 29, 2013.
Shirley worked for Middleburg Manufacturing for 25 years as a seam ripper and retired at the age of 40. She was a member of Harvest Time Temple in Hanover.
Shirley enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her loving family.
Shirley is survived by her two children, Bruce Dayhoff and wife Diane, and Pamela Wolf, her 5 grandchildren, Wendy Cover and husband Dwayne, Lisa Gross and husband Ronald, Ryan Wolf, Justin Wolf and wife Amber, and Corey Wolf, and 6 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind one brother, Barry Mummert. Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Loretta Bly.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Shirley’s life will be held 1 PM, Monday, November 8, 2021, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc, 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA 17331, with her cousin, Rev. Fred Mummert officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. The funeral service will be Livestreamed for those who are unable to attend. The family will receive friends from 11 AM to 1 PM, Monday, November 8, 2021, at the funeral home.
