Shirley Ann Werner

Shirley Ann (Wherley) Werner, 82, of Hanover, PA, entered God's eternal care, Thursday, August 4, 2022, at UPMC Hanover.  

Born April 18, 1940, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Allan A. and Ethel M. (Weikert) Wherley.  Shirley was the loving wife of the late Kenneth E. Werner with whom she shared 50 years of marriage until his passing on August 14, 2009.

Shirley retired from housekeeping after many years of service at Homewood at Plum Creek Retirement Community.

Shirley enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends.

Shirley is survived by her children, Michael E. Werner and friend Amanda L. Hoffman of Hanover, PA, Brian E. Werner and wife Bonnie A. of Hanover, Tony L. Werner and wife Tina M. of Hanover, and daughter Lisa E. Reinhart and husband Chris V. of New Oxford; grandchildren, Alecia A. Werner, Toshia  L. Viands and husband Brad, Kyle J. Werner and wife Natalie, Kurt A. Werner and wife Julie, Mary E. Timlin and husband David, Cody D.V. Reinhart, and Ashton E.A. Reinhart;  14 greatgrandchildren; her siblings, Donald Wherley, James Wherley, Helen Bollinger, Nancy Plunkert, and Linda Wherley.  She was preceded in death by her infant daughter Deborah Werner, and her siblings, William Wherley, Richard Wherley, Ray Wherley, Robert Wherley, Fred Wherley, Herbert Wherley, John Wherley, David Wherley, Ruth Yohe, Evelyn Workman, and Dorothy Wherley.

A service to celebrate and remember Shirley’s life will be held 11 AM, Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Victory Baptist Church, 25 Breezewood Dr, Hanover, PA, with Pastor Jason Myers officiating. A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Thursday, August 11, 2022, at the church.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Werner, Kyle Werner, Kurt Werner, Cody Reinhart, Chris Reinhart, David Timlin, and David Plunkett.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shirley’s memory to the Kidney Foundation, 900 S Arlington Avenue, #134A, Harrisburg, PA 17109
