Shirley J. Greene

Shirley J. Greene, 85, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Saturday, March 15, 2025, at home with her loving family by her side.

Born April 20, 1939, in Indian Creek, TN, she was the daughter of the late George R. and Ruby E. (Benfield) Tate.  Shirley was the loving wife of Milum L. Greene, Jr., with whom she shared 65 years of marriage.

Shirley was a 1957 graduate of Science Hill High School, Johnson City, TN.  While in high school, she participated in the Glee Club, the Pep Club, and Senior Dramatics and Intramurals.

Shirley worked in administration at Northrop Grumman for 20 years until her retirement.

Shirley was a former member of the Severn River Lions Club, and a member of Partners in Care, Meals on Wheels, and the Red Hat Society, in Annapolis, MD.

Shirley loved spending time with family and loved to travel.

In addition to her loving husband Milum, Shirley is survived by three children, Michelle Shores, Michael Greene, and Marcia German; seven grandchildren, Christina Young, Chelsea Shores, Shelby Bell, Dustin Shores, Jake German, AJ German, and Kolbe German; three great-grandchildren, Alayna Grasvik, Lyric Smith, and Atticus Bell; and a sister, Linda Byers.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Shirley will be held 10:00AM, Friday, March 21, 2025, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Rev. Josh Stratton officiating.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville, MD. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Shirley’s memory to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
