Sidney J. Yingling

Sidney J. Yingling, 89, of Gettysburg, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Thursday, June 26, 2025, at home with his loving daughter, Cindy and niece, Debbie Bair by his side.

Born December 14, 1935, in Littlestown, he was the son of the late Edgar and Zelda (Walters) Yingling.  Sidney was the loving husband of the late Nancy Lou (Huff) Yingling, with whom he shared 68 years of marriage until her passing on April 3, 2025.

Sidney worked for over 30 years as a manager and service attendant for Direct-To-You-Gas until his retirement. 

In his free time, Sidney enjoyed sitting at the window looking for deer and other wildlife.  He loved taking care of his flower beds and garden. 

Sidney was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Littlestown, PA

Sidney is survived by two children, Cindy L. Yingling of New Oxford, PA, and Craig L. Yingling and wife Connie of Gettysburg, PA, 2 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, one brother, Raymond Yingling of Littlestown, PA.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Candy Lynne Yingling who died December 29, 2023, and by six siblings, Frances Reed, Charles Yingling, Robert Yingling, Zelda Mundorff, Blaine Yingling, and Esther Moritz.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Sidney’s life will be held 11AM, Monday, June 30, 2025, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 66 East Hanover Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325, with Pastor Scott A. Sager officiating. A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be from 10-11AM, Monday, June 30, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Catholic Church Cemetery, Littlestown, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the VNA Hospice of Hanover & Spring Grove, 440 Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331, or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4309 Linglestown Road, Suite 108, Harrisburg, PA 17112.
