Sophia E. Trish

Sophia E. (Cookie) Trish, 82, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Friday, June 15, 2018 at the Gardens at Gettysburg Nursing Home. 

Born November 8, 1935, in Los Angeles, CA, she was the daughter of the late John and Beulah (Reaver) Cunningham.  She was the loving wife of the late Donald L. Trish who died March 28, 1991.

Sophia was a graduate of Eichelberger High School, Class of 1954.  She was a life-member and past Auxiliary President of AMVETS Post 22, Hanover, PA.

Sophia is survived by her children, Jeff Trish of Hanover, PA, Sandy Smith of Hanover, PA, Cindy  Bankert of Abbottstown, PA, Brenda Kreitz of Gettysburg, PA, Donna Farver Sell of Hanover, PA, and Patricia Smith of Hanover, PA; ten grandchildren, Hope Rupp of Lewisberry, PA, Todd Bankert and Mike Bankert both of Abbottstown, PA, Jessica Coscia of Gettysburg, PA, Veronica Restivo of Las Vegas, NV, Jeremy Trish of Gettysburg, PA, Tony Smith, Heather Reed, Carrie Myers and Matt Hockensmith, all of Hanover, PA; and eighteen great-grandchildren. 

Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate and remember Sophia will be held 2 PM, Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA.  A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 1-2 PM, Friday, June 22, 2018 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Sophia may be made to you favorite veteran's charity.
