Starla R. Grove

Starla Renee Grove, age 50, of Hanover, PA, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, November 5, at her home.

She was born on June 11, 1974, to Lowell and the late Kathryn (Zimmerman) Grove.

Starla was a member of Garber's Mennonite Church in Spring Grove.

As the oldest in a farming family, Starla spent many hours driving tractors and milking cows. Through the years, her work was important to her: taking jobs at markets, teaching school in Ohio, and serving in Guatemala for ten years, making friends wherever she went.

She continued to use her Spanish language mastery when she moved back to PA, relating to patients at the dentist office where she worked and translating in local schools.

Starla's family and friends were important to her, and she joined in activities with them as long as she could.

Starla is survived by her father, Lowell Grove, of Hanover; 4 siblings, Wendy (Tony) Weaver of Salem, OH; Sonya (Richard) Rhodes of Columbiana, OH; Ryan (Cheresa) Grove of Dearborn, MI; Wendell (Amanda) Grove of Littlestown, PA; and 24 nieces and nephews.   She is preceded in death by her mother, Kathy.

Visitation and funeral services will be held at Bairs-Hanover Meetinghouse, 6925 Hanover Rd, Hanover, PA. Visiting hours are Sunday, November 10, 2-4 and 6-8 pm, and the funeral will be Monday, November 11 at 10 am. Burial will follow at the York Road Cemetery.
