Stephen M. Weaver

It is with great sadness to share the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. Stephen M. Weaver, 74, of Hanover, PA, found eternal rest at home early on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.

Born on February 2, 1949, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Bernard and Marie (Poist) Weaver.  Steve was the loving husband of Ann M. (McCarthy) Weaver with whom he shared thirty-five years of marriage filled with much travel and many tailgates. 

Steve was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, PA, the McSherrystown Fish and Game Association, the Hanover Republican Club, the Clarence, PA Moose and the Beauty Run hunting camp.

Steve graduated from Delone Catholic High School in 1966 and continued his studies at Baltimore Tech, graduating in 1968.  Steve applied his technical skills as the IT manager at Hanover Direct for 40 years until his retirement in 2007.

Steve was a fan of nature and a variety of outdoor activities. He enjoyed hunting at Beauty Run, trout fishing, golfing, cooking, traveling, and was an avid Penn State and Green Bay Packers fan. Though a man of few words, Steve could always share an insightful comment on politics or Penn State.

In addition to his loving wife, Ann, Steve is survived by his children, Kim Weaver of Spring Grove, PA, Jill (Tim) Kuhn of Spring Grove, PA, Michael (Dana) Curry of Hanover, PA, and Jen (Kevin) Chapman of Woodbridge, VA; nine grandchildren, Molly (Josh) Bizon and Tess (Jeff) Hansbrough, Isabel and Noah Kuhn, Deontae Harris, and Casey, Maggie, Oakley and Jude Chapman; two great grandchildren, Ellie and Vivian Hansbrough; and his siblings, Stephanie (Lynn) Reck, Jane Kress, Peg (Rick) Shaffer, Susan (Dean) Smith, Bob (Debbie) Weaver, Jim (Virginia) Weaver, and Cindy (Jerry) McCabe.  He was preceded in death by one son, Patrick Curry and his loving dog Nitty.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM, Saturday, April 29, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5055 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA, with Msgr. James Lyons as celebrant.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10 -11 AM, Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the church. Friends and family are invited to join us for lunch immediately following the services at Highland Taps & Tables at 925 Westminster Ave. Hanover, PA.
