Stewart Rebert Obituary

Stewart S. Rebert, 99, of Hanover, PA entered God's eternal care, Saturday, April 23, 2022.

Born January 30, 1923, on the family farm in West Manheim Township, Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Roy R. and Elsie (Shorb) Rebert.  Stewart was the loving husband of the late Verna C. (Mummert) Rebert to whom he was married for 57 years until her passing on June 21, 2016.

Stewart was a custom Architectural Woodworker for Ivan C. Dutterer, Inc.  He was the first employee Ivan hired and worked there for 36 years until his retirement in 1985

Stewart was the oldest lifelong member of St. David’s United Church of Christ, Hanover, PA.  He was a member of Keystone Reptile Club, Sinnamahoning Sportsman Club, West Manheim Hunting Club, Jefferson Sportsman Club East Fork Sportsman Club, and Mt. Country Sportsman Club.

Stewart enjoyed hunting big game, snake hunting, and outdoor photography.  He spent many hours watching bear, deer, turkey, and elk that he would feed in his yard at his cabin in Cameron County.  He was a skilled woodworker who made his kitchen cabinets for his home in Hanover and his cabin, along with other pieces of furniture.

Stewart is survived by his children, Donna Adams and her husband Dwight “Squire” Adams of Sherrills Ford, NC,  Julie Conrad and husband Timothy of Hanover, grandchildren; Joshua Gunnet and wife Susan, Krystle Conrad and husband Michael, Lucas Conrad and companion Katelyn Duck, Justin Adams and wife Jennifer, Juel Adams Boes and husband Nick, Jarrod Adams and wife Shanon, great-grandchildren; Brady, Bryce, Shane, Sophie, Kiera, Keilan, Karson, Ryan, Laine, Eli, Isabel, Olivia, and William.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Penny Becker Gunnet; brothers, Guy Rebert, Rodger Rebert, Burnell Rebert, Ernie Rebert; and sister, Miriam Rebert Bollinger.

The family would like to thank Memorial White Rose Hospice, York, and the staff and caregivers at Columbia Cottage in Hanover for their care and compassion.  Also, Rev. Scott Sager for his spiritual support to our family during this time.

A memorial service to celebrate and remember Stewart's life will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA with his pastor, the Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 2-3 PM, Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at the funeral home.  Following cremation, burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. 

Memorial contributions in memory of Stewart may be made to St. David’s United Church of Christ, 142 Hobart Road, Hanover, PA 17331.
