Susan Willis Johnson, 80, of Hanover, PA, passed on November 5, 2022, at UPMC Hanover of complications from pneumonia.
Born February 26, 1942, in Chestertown, MD, Susan was the daughter of the late William Dorsey and Adeline (Hayden) Willis from Centreville, MD. She was the loving wife of the late David Edward Johnson.
After graduating from Moravian Academy for Girls in Bethlehem, PA, Susan attended the University of Maryland, College Park. She worked in sales for many years, held a Maryland Contractor's license and was a homemaker.
Susan enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed painting. She also enjoyed interior decorating and design as well as gardening and landscaping. In her younger years, Susan enjoyed sailing, crabbing and spending time near the water on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Susan is survived by her daughter, Lori Evans Spencer of Hanover, PA, her son William Ernest (Ellen) Spencer of Hanson, MA, and stepson David Edward Johnson, Jr., of Washington, DC. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Joseph Francis Bittner III, Jon Alan Ouimette, Jr., Pierce Edward Johnson, Wyatt Alton Spencer and Matthew Noah Spencer, as well as two great-grandchildren, Joseph Bittner, IV, and Cash Bittner. Susan was preceded in death by her two brothers, William Dorsey Willis, Jr. and Edward Clark Willis.
A memorial service will be held 1 PM, Saturday, December 3, 2022 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA , with Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family..
