Susan E. Marsh, 75, died at home unexpectedly on Monday, April 18, 2022. Born in Hanover on March 9, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Joyce E. (Fleming) and Earl L. Amspacher. She was married to Larry D. Marsh on November 24, 1984, and enjoyed the best years of her life on adventures with him.
She is survived by daughters Kathi Anderson Dietrich of Hanover; Amy Marsh Rhoades (Stephen) of Mt. Vernon Ohio; and Malinda Marsh Rettinger of Mechanicsburg PA. She was a loving grandmother to Nathen and Joshua Dietrich; Levi, Carson and Wyatt Rhoades; and Samuel, Mark, Mary, and Sadie Rettinger. Brother Steven E. Amspacher (Donna) of East Berlin PA; sister-in-law Teresa Amspacher of Spring Grove, PA; close cousin, Patricia Williams Trone, of Hanover; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. She adored her grandchildren and was the best Grammy ever, enjoying time with them whenever possible. She was predeceased by her beloved son Michael A. Anderson, and brother Thomas E. Amspacher.
Sue was a friendly and vivacious person, with a big laugh, who loved the beach, sun, and all things fun. She kept in touch with friends from previous employers, J.H. Schuler, and Hanover Foods, where she retired from in 2009; lunched with her Hanover High School classmates; played dominos weekly with friends; member of NFC Cruisers and numerous social clubs; and monthly couples card club. She was a voracious reader, crafter, shopper, and beach bum, who got excited at every dolphin she saw jump in the ocean. She and Larry traveled often, taking cruises, trips to the beach, and they just returned from their annual trip to Florida, which she looked forward to every year.
Visitation will be held at Kenworthy Funeral Home, 269 Frederick Street Hanover, on Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 9am-11am. A memorial service will be held at 11am, with the Rev. Thomas Aumen officiating. Interment will be private. A six-month survivor of breast cancer, donations may be sent to: PA Breast Cancer Coalition, 239 Quentin Road, Lebanon PA 17042.
