Susan L. Masimore

Susan L. Masimore, 68, of Hanover, PA, entered God's eternal care Thursday, December 11, 2025, at home with her loving family by her side.  

 Born December 16, 1956, in Peekskill, NY, she was the daughter of Donald J. and Marjorie (Bunyea) Conklin.  She was the loving wife of Robert L. Masimore, with whom she shared 49 years of marriage.  

Susan was a 1974 graduate of Northeast High School, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and attended Carroll Community College. She retired from Carroll Hospital Center in 2007, with twenty years of service, as a medical billing specialist.

Susan volunteered for and raised funds for the Huntington’s Disease Society of America. She also volunteered at school while her children were growing up and supported them in every activity they did. 

After her retirement, she became the "travel agent" for her family planning trips to Disney World, Mexico, Spain, France, and Italy.   Susan also loved going to the beach, and her and Robert traveled a few more times to Mexico and to Florida. 

Susan was an avid Orioles and Ravens fan, and she loved music- there was not a concert she would pass up.  She was also a wonderful gardener, and she enjoyed decorating for Christmastime.

Susan (or “Gigi” as she was affectionately known by her grandchildren) especially loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered by them for being a kind, loving, selfless, and thoughtful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  

In addition to her loving husband Robert, Susan is survived by her children, Dr. Kristi and Alex Phillips and their daughter Carly of Ellicott City, MD, and Gregory Masimore and his son Quentin (and his mother Tiffany Ellison Masimore) of Hanover, PA; and two siblings, Kevin Conklin and Nancy Sinkhorn of Chattanooga, TN. 

A celebration of Susan’s life will be held 11 Am, Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Highland Taps and Tables, 925 Westminster Avenue, Hanover, PA, with lunch to follow.
