Suzanne E. Sweigart

Suzanne E. Sweigart, 73, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 23, 2026, 2026, at WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital.

Born October 3, 1952, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Betty (Cooling) Sweigart. 

Suzanne earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Piano from Houghton College in 1975, a graduate of the New York Institute of Finance, and earned a Masters in Voice from Westminster Choir Collage in 1991.  During the late 1970s and early 80s, she worked for several large investment companies in New York City.  She went on to be a Professor of piano and voice at numerous colleges throughout the area, most recently the Cumberland Valley School of Music in Greencastle, PA.  

She was a former member of Marsh Creek Presbyterian Church, Gettysburg, PA.  It was stated that Suzanne did not suffer fools, and was steadfast in all her endeavors.     

Suzanne is survived by her brother, Charles Sweigart and significant other, Catherine Rose of Providence, RI; nephews, Ryan Sweigart and wife, Emily, Andrew Sweigart and Patrick Sweigart and wife, Shanon; great-nephews, Harrison and Weston Sweigart; great-niece, Elizabeth Sweigart; dear cousin, Janet Vogel and husband, Rev. Chris Vogel of Waukesha, WI; and her feline companion, Isabella.

To honor Suzanne’s wishes, all services will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made in Suzanne’s honor to a charity of the donor’s choice.
