Tony L. Schuman

Tony L. Schuman, 83, of New Oxford, PA, entered God’s eternal care Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at home with his loving family by his side.

Born October 24, 1942, in Hanover, he was the son of the late Lester R. and Dorothy R. (Sterner) Schuman.

He is survived by his wife Dona, a daughter, Jodi L. Schuman, a son, Tony L. Schuman II, stepchildren, Melissa Ford, Kevin Hartlaub, Tabetha Bechtel, Amy Hobbs, and Michael Moore, one grandson, Alijah Tomic, one great grandchild on the way, as well as numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Schuman.

Tony graduated from Eichelberger High School in 1960, and graduated from Electronic School in Upper Darby in 1962 and then began his working career with RCA in Cherry Hill, NJ.  He worked on the Ballistic Missel Early Warning System and spent a tour on the Thule Greenland site.  He then went to work for IBM for the Office Products Division in Philadelphia, York, and Harrisburg offices.  He was a co-founder of Office Product Services located in Hanover.  He then went on to become President of the Corporation.  After selling the business, he worked in food processing plants of Knouse Foods and Shultz Foods servicing their food processing equipment.  He continued doing maintenance and building projects until his retirement.

Tony was a member of two churches, Chapel Hill Church of God in York Springs, PA, and Jesus is Lord Ministries in Cashtown, PA - He lived; he died as a son of God.

Tony enjoyed hunting, country life, the outdoors, farming and gardening and was fond of Model Railroading since his childhood, and photography – he usually had a camera with him.  He enjoyed building, remodeling, and restoring homes.

Tony was a former PER of the ELK’s Lodge #763, and the Hanover Republican Club.

Following cremation, a service to celebrate and remember Tony’s life will be held 11AM, Monday, August 17, 2026, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA.  Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  A visitation will be held from 10-11AM, Monday, August 17, 2026, at the funeral home.
