Treva O. Shank, 100, Hurshel William Shank, Sr., 91, of Gettysburg, PA, entered into God's eternal care, Friday, May 15, 2026, at her home with her loving family by her side.
Born June 14, 1925, in Littlestown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Cleason H. and Alta V. (Ohler) Plunkert. Treva was the loving wife of the late Hurshel William Shank, Sr., with whom she shared 71 years of marriage until his passing on August 10, 2014.
Treva was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Gettysburg, PA.
Treva retired after many years as a stitcher for Windsor Shoe, the Littonian Shoe Company, and Blouser Baby Shoe Company.
In her spare time, Treva enjoyed making crafts with her husband and for 18 years attended many shows where they sold their creations.
Treva is survived by one son, Hurshel W. Shank, Jr. and wife Wanda of Gettysburg, PA, two grandchildren, Joshua F. Shank and wife Maggie of NC, Kellyn A. Martin-Little and husband Patrick of Hanover, PA, and four great grandchildren, Noah and Logan Martin, Sutton and Emelia Shank. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia B. Weaver and Madelyn C. Orndorff, and her two brothers, Herbert Plunkert and Romanus Plunkert.
A service to celebrate and remember Treva's life will be held 11 AM, Thursday, May 21, 2026, at St. James Lutheran Church, 109 York Street, Gettysburg, PA, with her Pastor the Rev. Libby Baker-Mikesell officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg, PA. Viewings and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 66 East Hanover Street, Bonneauville, PA, as well as from 10-11 AM, Thursday, May 21, 2026 at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Treva's memory may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, 109 York Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
