Vera J. Meads

Vera J. Meads, 93, of Gettysburg, PA, entered God's eternal care, Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at SpiriTrust Lutheran the Village at Gettysburg.

She was born the daughter of the late William and Rosa (Hamilton) Mote on June 15, 1930, in Shelby, NC.  During her service in the USAF she met and married the late Jerald D. Meads.

She also had many interests during her life including Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, reading and word search puzzles.

Vera is survived by her children James D. Meads (with his wife Elizabeth) of Sebring, FL, and Judy L. Mayer (with William Pfarr)of Gettysburg, PA; 2 granddaughters, Megan and Sarah; 1 Grandson, Nicholas; two great-grandchildren, Phoenix and Emma.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Mote and Edward Mote, and her cat of 17 years, Baby. 

There will be a celebration of her life held in January. Contributions can also be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
