Vernon A. Miller

Vernon A. Miller, 75, of Silver Springs, MD, entered God’s eternal care on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Springs, MD.

Born June 29, 1950, in York, PA, he was the son of the late Clarence and Grace (Henry) Miller.  Vernon was the loving husband of Joanne “Jodie” E. Miller with whom he shared 33 years of marriage. 

Vernon was a graduate of Red Lion High School, received a B.S. in Biology from Gettysburg College, and retired from Science News Magazine.

Vernon enjoyed going on bicycle trips, belonged to several bicycle clubs, and loved spending time with his family and friends.   

In addition to his loving wife Jodie, he is survived by his sister, Felicia Haynes; and two nieces, Lisa Stough and Lori Deller.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Linn; and a nephew, Randy Wilson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM, Monday, March 23, 2026, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 12 East Hanover Street, Gettysburg (Bonneauville), PA, with Father Benny Jose officiating.  Burial will be in St. Joseph the Worker Church Cemetery, Gettysburg (Bonneauville), PA.  A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6-8PM, Sunday, March 22, 2026, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 66 East Hanover Street, Gettysburg (Bonneauville), PA, as well as from 10 -11 AM, Monday, March 23, 2026 at the church.
